Thank you to everyone one that
joined is for the Student Appreciation Day!
I am not sure how well I stated this during the event, but I just want you to know how much we appreciate the families and friends that have chosen to make MKG Madison a home away from home.
In 2010, I would have never imagined that this could be a reality. As a matter of fact, I was not even interested in owning my own martial arts school. I was happy teaching and sharing the arts under someone else’s banner. Circumstances beyond my control lead me on this journey and helped me realize that what we have now could be a reality.
Over the past 6 years, I have been honored to see how much this art can and does change lives for the better. It has definitely changed my life and the lives of my family. I have also seen it change the lives for so many others. This art has helped our students by helping others find a way to meet some personal physical goals like weight loss, mobility improvement and so on. There have also been some great emotional and mental goals reached by building confidence to look for a new job or trying something new and challenging and so much more. This art has also created new friendships and relationships through a common passion in the martial arts that may not have been realized otherwise. You guys have achieved these things and many more that are to extensive to mention them all here.
This makes me so proud for the MKG Madison family!
I am so thankful for everyone of you that are (and have been) a part of MKG International Martial Arts Madison! I am honored to call you family.
Thank you enriching my life and the lives of those around you.
Continue to TRAIN SAFE! TRAIN HARD AND HAVE FUN!
This week at MKG Madison . . .
Schedule Change for this weekend
Due to the Guro Inosanto Seminar in Minneapolis this weekend, we do have a bit of a schedule change for this Saturday, September 23rd.
At this point:
MKG Littles, MKG Kids and Kickboxing Essentials will be remain unchanged.
but . . .
Jun Fan Martial Arts/JKD Concepts Class will be cancelled and the Phase 1 Class will be moved up to 11:15 am – 12:30 pm.
We will let you know if this changes and solidify the Saturday schedule by this Wednesday!
This week in class . . .
- MKG Kids are finishing up the Crash and Slash Villebraille 8 count and the first section of our 15 ct Thai Boxing Drill this month our word has been respect and we have been exploring how different culture show respect. We will continue with that and look at how we can show respect for ourselves also.
- Foundations and Kickboxing Essentials is on week 2 of the 6 week rotation. So that mean continued Kob Kob and Boxing Fundamentals. Can you see what those 2 different areas of training have in common?
- MKG Phase 1 – We will continue putting together the different Double Stick train methods to challenge your body and your brain. Then head to the 15 ct Thai Boxing Drill to see how we can make a few fun changes and still keep the essence of the drill.
- MKG Phase 2 – Last week the Phase 2 crew was exploring Stick and Dagger training . . . and that continues this week with rear hand awareness drills. We will also continue to explore striking from the clinch/tie up.
